Array ( [sid] => 5287 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Thanks For The Advice [time] => 2002-10-19 07:30:00 [hometext] => This is written to everyone who has posted comments on my work and left me advice as to what I should do regarding the situation I'm currently in. I do appreciate everyones comments and thoughts, all of them. Whether I agree with them or not, I'm always open to everyones point of view. Some have apologized for some of their comments thinking they have oversteped their bounds. No need to apologize, I post my work to be read and I expect nothing less than honest reactions and thoughts. Anyway, I wrote this because so many have left advice and I felt I should respond to it. [bodytext] => I appreciate the comments
And all the advice
Knowing people care
Is really quite nice
Many think I should leave
Say goodbye and be on my way
If I was to do that
It would be my heart I betray
Your words have been considered
Follow that advice, I must decline
For my heart’s chosen her
The decisions not mine
Though the situation seems unchanged
And I’m still feeling pain
By leaving my true love
What could I gain?
Some say by my leaving
She’ll soon see what she’s lost
But then I’ll be gone
Our true love the cost
I don’t want her to see what she’s lost
Rather realize what’s right here
I think that can happen
If she can move past the fear
The way I’ll always love her
I need her to believe
I don’t see that happening
If I choose to leave
If I walked away
Leaving her without
Then I’ve broken a promise
Increasing her doubt
She is the one
How I know I can’t explain
If we’re one day together
It’s worth all my pain
When I’m not with her
I feel incomplete, you see
Not only a vital part of my life
She’s a vital part of me
I fall more deeply in love
With each breath that she takes
Every touch of her hand
Every movement she makes
I look in her eyes
I see this dream coming true
I see our future together
I hear her say, “I do.”
Without her in my life
I’d surely be lost
My heart would grow cold
Covered with frost
She’s all I’ve ever needed
I just hope she needs me
I continue waiting
And one day we’ll see
You may not agree with me
Say my decision is a mistake
But I must follow my heart
My promises, I won’t break
I will be by her side
Until her decision she makes
No matter what I must go through
No matter how long it takes
If the time comes
When she tells me we can’t be
I’ll leave with no regrets
And no “what ifs” will plague me
If she comes to have faith in us
If she sees I’ve never lied
We will start our life together
And I’ll never leave her side
But I thank you for your advice
And for hoping the best for me
But I can’t leave "the one"
It’s with her, I need to be [comments] => 7 [counter] => 275 [topic] => 25 [informant] => MisterRight [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => MiscPoems )

This is beautiful... if only more people were as loyal to love as you seem to be... good luck!

Hey Curtis, so sweet of you to write this... You have to follow your heart, no matter what. My husband and I met when I was 10.. and he waited 13 years before he could have me... and now we both are glad he stuck it out... Hang in there, Dolphin...

we all love you!!! And we hate to see you in pain... :( I am sure that she will turn around in her ways... but don't be so blind to what you want, that you forget about your own needs and wants, k? That kind of life wouldn't be good for either one of you... k? mental hugs!!!

This is a lovely poem ... and you almost have me convinced! If only I was as positive as you that love conquers all, then I wouldn't torture myself so much. I wish you every happiness.

well theres really nothing more we can say BUT you know her we don't so you know what you feel,I will only say this if you stay in love with her for too long you will probably go insane & maybe you will be wasteing your time! I've been there once & I found out I was wasteing my time! Now I've got the man of my dreams because I threw that other in the trash!!! Good luck!Christina

it is good that you arent letting others advice change your mind, i wish i could find someone as dedicated to loving me as you obviously are to her. if she ends the relationship then she is losing out because you are definately a great guy, just dont wait too long and let your whole life slip away. and dont ever settle for "lets wait and see" or "maybe" you deserve a definate answer and i hope things work out as you want them because you deserve something great to come out of this. by the way your poem is really good and i hope to read more from you.
