Thinking of all anger I have spilt,
All the bad things that I have done,
My deep regret has long begun.

If I could turn back time,
I’d change the words to my rhyme,
Instead of anger and all my hate,
I’d say things to make others feel great.

I fired out so much hurt,
Left people in the dirt,
Didn’t care about what I said,
Wished in anger that people were dead.

The guilt really takes it’s toll,
I keep on falling down these holes,
I try to push it to the back of my mind,
My happiness it always manages to find.

Guilt can rot you from the inside,
I try & hide it with my pride,
But I am hurting over my past,
How long will this feeling last?

I doubt I can ever forgive,
Everything I said & did,
So my guilt walks next to me,
Never letting me go free.

Pixie, honey, you are as human as the rest of us and we have all done it at some time or many in our lives. Anger and frustration, generally not of our own making, cause us to lash out. But as long as you learned from the lesson and don't intentionally do it again the you have no reason to berate yourself for normal human behaviour. Let it go, sweetie, and pick up life and live it to the fullest, making up what you can to those you hurt, and throw the rest away. You deserve better than to guilt yourself forever over the past.

Love,
Rita

Pixie..... *huggles pixie deeply and dearly*

You will forgive yourself someday.... and, it may be easier than you think, but intill then, I'll forgive you for you.... and... let me help you bear your guilt...

Wow . . . beautiful poem, and I know so well how it feels to just be consumed by guilt. It's an awful feeling but someday, self-forgiveness really will come, and I'm not just saying that. If you ever want to talk, feel free to PM me :).

great poem I know how you feel. We've all been guilty of saying things in anger we shouldn't have said but sometimes our mouth works before our brain does. if that makes sense at all. Good write and thank you for your comment on my poems.

its so much easier to look behind and see what we could have changed and what life would be like now.. but if we never made this mistakes we would never learn a lesson.. all these painful errors teach us so much and make us stronger than we were before.. AMI JO
