It looks real.
When you cut it
Blood seeps down it
In a mockery of your covered veins.
It must be real,
If it can bleed.
But to everyone else it is invisible.
They never see you,
Only ever see your carefully constructed pretence
That everything's just fine.
You're trying so hard to protect them
From what you are
That you have no strength left
To help yourself.
Sometimes you wonder that,
If you wrote a letter
And swallowed those tempting pills,
Would they see you?
Would your body become solid.
Real.
A reality in Death.
That should scare you,
But right now it sounds so good.
Your only restraint is self-control -
No-one is there to stop you
When you're invisible. [comments] => 5 [counter] => 208 [topic] => 32 [informant] => screamingfromwithin [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )

I found something in this that I understand. Something I can relate to and sympathize with. It is beautifully written.

The way I see it is that you've got a bushel of lemons and you're
complaining about it instead of opening up a lemonade stand.

If you're regarded as being invisible to those around you, then
you're on the inside track for selection to the CIA's spy training school.

Ya see? A whole new career path has opened up to you! ,
Be happy!

"And what'll you have Mr....?" "Within...Screamingfrom Within,
and I'll have a martini, shaken not stirred."
