But to beat it I am very keen,
Like most I have my bad days,
Where I don’t believe what anyone says.

I stand in the mirror for a long time,
Checking & making sure I look fine,
I never really like what stares back,
One day I think the mirror will crack.

I have a man who loves me so,
Maybe I should just let go,
Of this constant niggling worry,
Leave it behind in a hurry.

But my self esteem takes a beating,
Every time I feel like eating,
Or when I see a pretty lady,
Then my good feeling feels shaky.

I do like myself, whereas before,
I seen myself as some ugly whore,
But day by day I make some progress,
& I feel worthy rather than worthless.

It is a very long & tough task,
To love who I am is alot to ask,
Especially when I’m used to self hate,
That’s why with loving me I always hesitate.

I love the way you portray that even though it's hard, you know what you have to do, that you are trying to like yourself, You deserve to have all the love that you can give!

I LIKE THIS. YOU NEED TO LIKE WHO YOU'RE. GOD MADE YOU FOR A REASON THE WAY HE WANTED TOO. IN EVERY WAY EVERYONE IS BEAUTIFUL IN THE OUTSIDE AND INSIDE THERE OWN WAY.

Pixie, you've got a lot going for you. A husband who loves you - poetry talent , which indicates intelligence.- concern for your appearance, which indicates love and consideration for others. - you distribute a lack of pride and arrogance, which shows a beautiful heart (more important than outward beauty). I think you are fine, and not a bad looker either.

I like you just the way you are, but know all to well the feeling of not liking yourself. I'm with you on that one. Hold onto all the true love centered in your life, it will get you through those dark days.
Angel always...joni

Bold spoken loud. You have grown, you are stronger, and I don't care if you believe me.
You're learning & telling us true. You're doin' good girl, you're doin' good.
You take care, you got it going on. It's beautiful to read.
I say god bless you for earlier pains that interpheard with what you are know noticing. Good.

Krissy, I like you enough for 10 people so just give it up. I can't understand why people care so much about what others think of them. As long as you are honest and polite and decent you have fulfilled your debt to society. Give yourself a break. You are just a good as anyone else.

Rita

The most critical people we will ever meet will be ourselves. Put the baggage down and love the people who love you. A very nice write about your feelings.

i like the fact that through the poem you seem to be getting better and that gives people hope you should allways love yourself though even if your not happy with your appearance because everyone has something to offer and everone has a personality
Allways sincere

I suffer from low self esteem too, most days I dont even look into the mirror until I absolutely have to. But you should realize how lucky you are to have someone who loves you and that should very well increase your confidence. Sure sometime, we all get intimidated but for the most part, we should learn to love ourselves, because if we dont, others are not going to. All in all great write, very touching and definitely something I could relate to.

Krissie, though i have never actually seen you, i do know you are beautiful on the inside.
I understand this, for i have also hated myself for a long time.

"But my self esteem takes a beating,
Every time I feel like eating,
Or when I see a pretty lady,
Then my good feeling feels shaky."

I know how you mean.
Stay strong ok?
This is a great poem, saying things im sure many understand.
*hugs you* Phil xxx

i know this is hard for you, but you have to love yourself before you can make someone else happy. but you shold love yourself, you're sweet, caring, funny, emotional, deep. an all-around good person. 4 stars and remember we care.
