today Im on a love high, and it is such a rush
I never knew loving someone, can make you feel so much
feelings so wonderful, no words could describe
just something I know, I dont want to subside
an energy like I have never felt before
feelings that I kept, behind my hearts closed door
its so overwhelming, an at times it brings me to tears
I cant believe that truly loving was one of my fears
I have missed out on so much, through the years
of keeping the words I love you, from my ears
not wanting to chance, the breaking of my heart
not wanting to start something then have to part
but wanting and needing, to be loved so much
just a bit afraid, that it will become my crutch
I know now, what I didnt know then
that truly loving someone, comes from within
its about taking a chance, and hoping for the best
and understanding that love, like life, is often a test
but how we handle it and receive it, is the thing
can we truly be open, to what love will bring
just know what your are feeling is just the beginning
of what happens when the wheels of love start spinning
remember love has no guarantees so be cautious in your pursuit
real love takes time to really take root
so one day at a time and all through the day
thank God for sending love your way
