People would stop staring at me & take notice to the girl within.
The girl that is so full of life, the one waiting to be loved,
Wanting everything, but life just isn't enough.

As I stand before the mirror I take notice to my shape,
The endless pounds so seen, this is the girl I really hate.
Tired of wondering what ppl say, behind my shield there is a heart,
If I were as beautiful as all others, would you call me your sweetheart?

So fed up with being alone,
If only I was skinny I'd be liked,
If I was acknowledged as a person,
Then everything would be alright.

But no-one sees me, I'm invisible in their eyes,
There's so much more to me than this weight,
I wish you could see me when I cry.

I try to imagine what life would be like if I were thin,
People wouldn't care what's on the outside but more of what's within.
Cuz I don't think I can take it anymore, there's so much more to me than this,
There's feelings behind these sad eyes, a love you couldn't miss. True sentiments. I'm battling it too. There *are* nice people out there who care about more than thinness.

I can completely feel what you are going through. I have been through the same thing. I had to go drastic and have surgery last year to reduce my weight (which isnt something that I tell alot of people) but anyways, I have to say, I've lost alot of weight, not enough to be my "dream" or "ideal" weight but, I have found that happiness has to come from within and no matter what you weigh, nothing will change unless you change the inside first.

There're so many things I want to say about this poem, but I can't really put them into words, except, I know how you feel, and you'll find someone out there that cares about you despite everything. I did, and knowing that he loves me even though I'm not perfect in that aspect makes me love him all the more.

difficult subject to tackle- nice job. Remember that you are beautiful - it shows in your words.

I absolutely applaud you... this was a difficult, painful write for you, I'm sure - but you did a remarkable job and, obviously (per the comments here) many can relate.

There is someone waiting to call you sweetheart, Rachelle. Trust time, trust fate, trust yourself - you are stronger than you know. And you are beautiful - you've shown us that.

*hugs*
