As you wait for my magical words
And courage flies past the space between us
Like a carefree bird

You’re waiting for me to speak
But my mouth has dried up, like you and I
In fast speed I play you walking out the door
And me dropping to the floor to cry

Replaying your bitter words over in my head
You’d rather run away from me, I’d rather be dead

I can hear the drum roll as a tear slides down my cheek
And I feel you losing hope in everything we made
I know that you’ll want to forget about everything
But the thought of you not here makes me afraid

You make it seem as though you’re the only one in pain
And that maybe I’m hurting just to hurt you
And that sometimes you wish I’d never been born
To be the cause of agony you are constantly put through

Replaying your hurtful words, over again
You’d rather run away from me than dwell in your own ***** selfish pain

I can feel you drifting away, as you slip into your coat
And hear you stamp down the stairs, stamping on my heart
Your logic to me is trash; you seem to think you should go
Thinking we hurt when we’re a family, but we won’t if we’re apart

Replaying your heart breaking words, stabbing me like knives
Slashing at our family as you walk out of our lives

I’m trapped in confusion, unsure of what you meant
As you disown me and treat me with disappointment and shame
And so you drag out the death of this family
By placing your ***** words behind turning everything the same

Replaying your broken words, as you walk back through the door
Pretending nothing happened, only I’m not your little girl anymore [comments] => 2 [counter] => 161 [topic] => 65 [informant] => carmen_queasy [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => toughstuff )

Heatbreaking poem. You can really get in touch with the narrator. I hope things get better.
