Kissing my first four guys, Holding hands with three Money saved and borrowed rides And things I wish Id never seen New friends with new standards Older and wiser than me Classes filled with longer words And a final end to P.E. A best friend disintegrating Maybe Im to blame New shows and new things Im hating And nothing is ever the same Who wouldve thought one summer Could lead to all of this? And now I know these changes Still cant bring happiness Moments spent in holy arms And a youth group I adore Healing wounds and leaving scars And still wanting more New feelings, new enticements And starving for all things new New questions I cant answer And a dumbfounded view A fighter turned doormat Still laughing at the pain Turning from joyful, to real, to fake And hoping no traces remain. Will next year be so life changing? Will my future mock the past? Will my priorities need rearranging? And will the change in plans last? Will I have time for the bonds Ive lost? Can my heart hold more sad memories? And if it breaks, will it be worth the cost, Of remembering everything Ive seen? Death and laughing till it hurts Smiling though all your shattered dreams Have lost their way in their trail of fakes While youre ripping at the seams Growing pants, songs on pink hearts, The wind, a letter, a frame A cloudless sky, my mothers face And longing for a lasting fame This year has faded behind me And I step into blinding rays As a loud voice soon tells me, Get up and get on your way.

Well Kay...
I am quite aware that I have played some sort of role in all of this, maybe great, and maybe small. I know at times I wish I had kept my mouth shut, and others I wish I had spoken up. I know the night after choir in my car was not something either one of us had hoped for, but I like to think of it as something that may fappen later...God willing. Freshman year can always be tough... but sophomore year can only get better ( and it seems it already has after your weekend in Rome) And from a Senior (this year) to a now Sophomore... I hope you have a wonderful year.
Love,
Eric Goff
