[time] => 2002-10-27 19:00:00 [hometext] => This is about a girl who knows that she's dying, and she's trying to keep her best friend, who is falling for her, to keep from getting hurt... [bodytext] => Dear Friend, I am writing you this note
To very simply say,
That although I know just how you feel,
From my path I can not stray.
I will be here to help you,
And to hold your hand,
But I am destined to walk along my path,
And to help you where I can.
I can not fall in love with you,
It would hurt you worse in the end,
I can only help you to see why it's better
For us to just be friends.
I know you think that you know fate
And that you can alter my course,
But I am sorry, in this one instance,
I have information from a higher source.
I know what is written in the cards,
And I know why I have to leave,
But please, whatever you do,
Don't try to follow me.
You would be surprised how many times
I've had to walk away
To keep one friend from getting hurt,
Somewhere along the way.
I am trying to spare you heart ache
And you'll appreciate it somewhere along the line,
But, Dear Friend, I can't let you love me,
Not like this, not this time... [comments] => 4 [counter] => 210 [topic] => 16 [informant] => ginsdance [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => FriendshipPoetry )

The saddest part about this is that the love is already there. Just because it is not out in the open, in your face to the world doesn't mean it's not there. And once that person does die...the grief will be there as well. Just because they are not together doesn't mean it won't hurt any less. Love should be embraced and shared no matter how long a person has. Because in the end...everyone dies...everyone.
