Forgotten by even myself.

Today wears the guise of yesterday

And holds a mirror for tomorrow…

This malaise won’t let me recall how to evolve.

There is something in a late night’s lack of inspiration

That resonates in all that was left hollow,

Inviting that masochistic sore-tooth prodding

That is the immortalisation of loss.

Still my heart is dressed in white—

Brilliantly spotless and counselled in whispers

To avoid an all-too-messy world

Where love’s sheathed blade awaits

(I never had any illusions to shatter).

There is no one to save me

From this tourniquet-tight asphyxiation,

No Blue Fairy to beseech to make me real

And let the blood seep through again.

When is it my turn to be fragile?

Words are falling

And it’s more than I can handle.

I have to dive into the water

Or drown here on my ship.
