with his features
like a mirror
sister speaking words
of him questioning the truth

stories of my mom
taking a trip
and coming back with news.
news of an addition
i was the extention.

I see that i am his
but what they mustn't know
is how i long
for the lies to be just

If only there had been
another man that she had found
someone living far away
with a completely different life
one who doesn't drink
and works to pay the bills
one who would be happy to know
that i belong to him.

If only the words my sister speaks
could possibly be true

the words she said to hurt me
made me feel no pain at all

but she can never know
of these feelings
i hold within

I've thought about telling my family
of how i wish for someone else
but pain and despair
are not emotions i like to give away
they belong to me and for now their not for sale

the truest words ever spoke
"ignorance is bliss"

I know how hard it is to speak the truth to the ones you love most. Your words are sadly put, but beatifully written-I love the way you write.
