[bodytext] => My life is there, in that box on the floor.
Once it held bobby’s Cowboy boots, size four. Oh, How his eyes lit up, the smile so wide! He put them on and ran outside Without even opening his other presents. Happy memories have turned to sad torments. I’m lost in dreams, I’m lost in dreams. I just hear Bobby’s cries and screams. When they came to take him away from me, They took my life, my love, my sanity. The one whose hugs kept me warm, Who held my hand throughout the storm. I wonder who bobby will find to play? I wonder why they took my baby away? I begged and pleaded, tell me what did I do? It’s for his sake, they said, its not about you. I hugged away all his doubt, He never wanted or went without. I kept him fed, shoes on his feet. Love like sugar cakes, all he could eat. Gave him all any mother could, More than any foster parent would. Lawyers and judges and courtroom reporters Filed briefs and papers and custody orders. Now a box holds all that I can call mine. Bobby’s homemade cards and valentines. Photos I took of smiles and surprise. Memories live, and love never dies. Today, tomorrow, year by year, I give him love with every tear.
