Would be to forsake what could have been mine
I walked away from you
To a place where you couldn’t follow

To look beyond the hopeless world
A place where all my dreams have been unfurled
All at my expense

I was almost laughing as I left you
You’re life would seem an eternity of pain
While I had an eternity of joy

I see you running towards me
Begging me not to die
But it was to late
You cannot undo what has been done
No matter how deep in the past it is
It is always there waiting to be uncovered once again
To bring back haunting memories

You cannot make amends
I cannot forgive you
I cannot forget the abuse you threw at me
One rash act has left me nonentity

The scars you inflicted
The scars I inflicted
Will never heal
My reminders of my painful past
Burned into my arms

I deserve them
For deserting you
I cannot undo what I have done
I’m suffering an eternity of memories come back to haunt me
You’re face in everyone

No matter how hard I try
I cannot seem to leave you behind
You’re always one step in front of me
Keeping me following
Your haunting steps
Leading me deeper into the past
I’m lost in my memories [comments] => 1 [counter] => 178 [topic] => 25 [informant] => blueeyedevil13 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => MiscPoems )
