In the Mexican dark
Flies a tiny little insect

It weaves in an out
It weaves out and in
And the world watches its splendor

Flying through the air
No burdens to bear
It flies without a worry

It sees a giant statue
A statue of a man
And the fly begins to wonder if it is in a foreign land

It flies around the head
And finds the man is dead
The fly begins to wonder

But as it begins its thinking
It finds that it is sinking
It has landed in a pool of water down below

And all the thoughts it wondered
He finds they have started to wander
He fights for his survival
For he has no chance of revival
Who would happen to walk by
Who would save a filthy fly
There is nothing it can do but die
But it continues to bravely struggle

It fights the water all night through
It is the only thing it knows to do
But the world seems blind to its horror

At last the fight it seems to cease
The fly has been given peace
And sinks to the bottom [comments] => 3 [counter] => 220 [topic] => 27 [informant] => poet_of_anger [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 4 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => NaturePoetry )
