And enters the house where his wife impatiently waits
Together they sit and enjoy a meal she prepared
As she quickly forgets the hours where she sat still and stared

She opens her mouth and asks about his week
Without looking up he says, “Honey, I don’t want to speak”
Forcefully, she sighs and slams down her fork
And replies “I don’t care, I think we need to talk”

He gets up and slowly he walks away
She screams after him “I’ve waited for you to come back for days”
He shakes his head and drags his feet up the stairs
Just making her out as she screams “You don’t even care!

He turns back round, tears down his face
As he tells her how their marriage is a disgrace
She turns her head, and lowers it in shame
And squeezes her eyes shut as she hears him say

“Everyday I rush through traffic
To be here with you, at home
But I know when I do, as you lay be my side
I am still lying here, alone”

She stands in guilty silence as he stares
And he says “So don’t even tell me that I don’t even care”
She squeaks an apology, quietly crying
Stabbing him more as he knows that she’s lying

“I know all about him, please don’t deny
That’s why I know this marriage is a lie
How can I live if, of someone else you dream?
Our life together is not at all as it seems”

She begs him to forgive her as he reaches for a gun
“All I wanted was to be someone”
His hands violently shake, as if out of fear
Stroking the gun, “love is right here”

She asks what he means and he replies
“Love is a gun, pull the trigger, someone dies”
She backs away quickly, unable to breathe
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to, forgive me, please”

Tears fall to the floor as he shakes his head
“When you love someone else, our love is then dead
How can you live? You don’t love me anymore”
And she gasps at the gun shot and watches his body fall to the floor [comments] => 1 [counter] => 160 [topic] => 22 [informant] => carmen_queasy [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )
