We were young and immature, but that attracted me too
We didn’t quite know, the best ways to flirt
But we were evenly matched, like Ernie and Bert
We were both quite mean, and even a little rude
But together we created, our own laughing feud
You laughed at me, when I tried not to make noise
And I laughed at myself, not knowing how to deal with boys
The day you became, boyfriend to a good friend of mine
I was honestly crushed, for quite some time
I stuck it out, and waited for your love
Hoping it was for me, it just needed a little shove
You showed interest, in my then best friend
I didn’t know what to think, was this the very end?
I kept up hope, and soothed her inner pain
Wondering if someday, you'd treat me the same
It seemed as though, you didn’t notice me
I was losing hope, getting angry
You moved on, to yet another
I still called you, my Big Bruver
Denying my feelings, including to myself
I tucked them away, locked them up on a shelf
This one could tell, I felt more towards you
She got jealous, but I smoothed it out soon
You messed up, one last time
But I was there, when you were crying
Pretty soon, we were real close
Here was my chance, I took it slow
I let you kiss me, though I was scared
I told you I couldn’t do it, I didn’t know if I dared
For two months, I went left and right
Thinking about you, all through the night
I may have messed up, took too long on my chance
But now that I have you, I feel my heart do a victory dance [comments] => 2 [counter] => 141 [topic] => 2 [informant] => anonymussme [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )
