On the cool, white concrete
in my backyard.
There is near silence,
for no cars pass by my street
at this time of night.

9:10 PM

The only sounds I hear are
the of pool pump's steady humming
and the cricket's soft music.
Glazing at the sky,
It looks like a dried red rose
against the white moon.
That hangs half full casting its light
onto the sleeping world below.

Contentedly, I listen to
The cool water lap
against the side of my pool.
Never changing in its rhythm.

Stars sprinkle the sky
making the night,
a precious gem
to keep in my memory
Forever. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 210 [topic] => 27 [informant] => Oriana [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 12 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => NaturePoetry )

I like this poem a lot. Sometimes the most beautiful things are also the most simple. I love the night. You used really good description.
