Array ( [sid] => 59412 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => If I would have known [time] => 2004-08-08 22:39:16 [hometext] => I wrote this poem before my grandmother died, I was sitting in the NICU waiting room and they told use she would not live. My grandfather kept saying [bodytext] => If I would have known that I had to let you go,
I would have never started that fight last night.
Instead I would have told you how I love you so,
And held you in my arms so tight.

If I would have known I would never see your smile,
I would have pegged God for your place.
All I would ask for is to have a little while,
So I could see the look of pleasure on your face.

If I would have known I would never hear your voice again,
I would never have rushed our conversation last night.
I would came right home, and would never had to ask again,
I would have been home to help you with all my might!

If I would have known I would never get to say I love you,
I would have stayed at your side.
I would have never went for that cup of coffee, but been with you!
My chance is gone now, I can't go back and be there when you died.

If I would have know things would have been differant.
I only wish you could see my pain,
You do not know all the things you meant.
I do not know how I will ever stay sane.

Very beautifully expressed.
Made me stop and think- how important it is to show your love to the people you care for.
