You overwhelm me with your splendor,
Beyond compare…
My muse gazes at me with such love,
That I drown in it…
This brilliant light that She spills on me…
The birth of a million children has begun…
They wink at me from above…
Beautiful children of the night…
I wish I was one of them…
To be one with the darkness…
I hear a plane overhead,
And mutter a desperate wish to go wherever it is going…
Some place far away from this heedless world…
But, alas, wishes don’t come true…
Cold and bare is my soul,
Ebony and bleak is my heart…
But you, my Muse, my Love,
Evoke this feeling that I haven’t experience in a long time…
An envious cloud veils your magnificent face,
And this pain that I feel is blinding…
White hot and relentless,
It torrents over my head, drowning me…
And I am consumed whole by it…
In a boundless sea of anguish and my tears,
I float on top black waves…
Without you to guide me…
As my last bit of hope withers away,
The war ends,
And you are the victor…
Your pallid face re-appears,
And comforts me with your ever-lasting light…
My eyes give out,
And I am enveloped in darkness again,
But with you brightening my dreams… [comments] => 3 [counter] => 147 [topic] => 43 [informant] => FleurdeSang [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

Nice. This is very original. I think this is a poem that expresses who you are. I like it.

Be True,

The birth of a million children has begun…

Mon cher, Fleur de souffrance--your soul is anything but cold and bare. To the contrary, it is your very warmth which makes you to feel this longing in you so keenly. Rather than succumb to a sense of powerlessness, you have made your emotion manifest in this, one of your most evocative poems. The line I quoted is a beginning, not an ending, and I feel your story is on the precipice of great change for the better.

I love the personifications of darkness and of the night, as well as the image of floating atop black waves. Yet, it seems your overriding theme is that of Hope, and I believe the lines My eyes give out, / And I am enveloped in darkness again, / But with you brightening my dreams… speak to this most eloquently. No, you are not about darkness and desolation--it is your capacity for looking to the future which says the most about you.

Éclat dessus, mon ami. Veritably, -KAC-

Tis as though kindred spirits we may be, You have met Anna Mossity. She seems to visit most in the night, appears as though she shuns daylight.

A lovely tribute toward inspirational forces.
