I wish I could release this burden.
I wish I could cry
and express my humanity.
I wish I could feel tears,
running like waterfalls beneath my knees.

I am on my knees now.
Will the wind shove
me into the river leading away?
I would love to leave,
but I am here.

I swear I've been here before.
I would love to leave.

Please?

I'm tired of being blinded
by the tears that I cannot express. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 157 [topic] => 13 [informant] => zenmind [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

Sometimes I feel like I can't cry either but you have to know that you can't hold in what you feel on the inside okay. When you let your emotions out, it helps you and I know that emotions sometimes do hurt, but find out what's really going on inside of you. You are a very unique poet and I hope to see more of your work. God Bless!!!!-luckycharm.

How poignant, your last lines. I think we are all somehow diminished by that which we can't express. How wonderful to release that, and see again.

Nice job.

Such painful, confessional poetry as this helps underline the basic tenets of humanity we all share. When one comes forward to share his anguish, which otherwise might go without expression, it's as though some portion of the weight is removed from all of our shoulders.

This river that the wind would shove you into--it reminds me of that in Hermann Hesse's Siddhartha. Ironically, the same river which threatens to drown the protagonist turns out to be his salvation. Is there something to it? Only time can tell. -KAC-
