I grasped for the last saving grace
But still the light i could not take
Because my heart had yet to break

To love and to lose is always the same
One simply matures and there is no shame
But my pondering ceased and i simply wept
And deep into my inner darkness i crept

My inner being began growing cold
My outer being began growing old
The childlike bliss of days long past
Had no place left for it to last

Grasping for a dream that could never be
I wandered around the world aimlessly
Yet for all my travels, i had no inspiration
For that world was of my own creation

Cast away, where faeries play
Where all thoughts roam free, sweet serenity
Imagination runs wild in the mind of a child
Which brought both heaven and hell to me

But no longer was i so young
Yet onto my hopes and dreams i clung
The inner child had yet to stay
For i could not take that heaven away

Caressing my rot, my festering glee
The pain would not leave from inside of me
My selfish heart wanted only to take
For it was all for the child's sake

I regrouped my thoughts, only to find
That time had passed, but not just in my mind
The world had gone, with me left behind
Crying and regretting my horrible bind

And at long last, i had to agree
That the child had become a part of me
My conciousness had split in two
And in that abyss, my hatred grew

My regret, my sorrow, my anger and spite
I would never have felt if i grasped that light
Apart from her, i might have lived peacefully
Instead, i have my insanity
