[bodytext] => Palest visions of a distant dawn Fearful pictures of a blowing horn, Heroes tramping bravely of to war, Demons invade through a hidden door. This symbol of beauty is our home Now fire and death, its valleys roam. Our kith and kin stand against the tide But they say, Himself, the devil rides. Gentle and bless’ed land, rich with life Now torn apart by horrendous strife. Down we fall, still valiant to the end While the hordes still ride to tear and rend. Motherland, sacred place of our birth Now blood and tears mingle with your earth. We hide, the last remnant of our breed The demons start fighting as they feed. Desolate and fruitless was the night But the Sunrise bathes all in her light Violence recoiled upon itself Rejoice! Now for happiness and health. ©2003 Amy Pluess [comments] => 2 [counter] => 183 [topic] => 40 [informant] => icequeen [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => fantasy )
