Array ( [sid] => 6094 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Your [time] => 2002-11-02 16:15:00 [hometext] => This poem is dedicated to my Grandfather, Bernard B. Floyd, who sadly died of a heart attack in 1985, at the age of 67. I was only two when he died so I don’t remember him, but I still miss him very much based on what I have heard about him, and really wish I could have known him. [bodytext] => I never got the chance
You died when I was two
In a heartbeat now I’d say
“Grandpa, I love you”

Though you sadly passed away
Forever dead and gone
Your love is here to stay
And your memories will live on

In heaven up above
Although I cannot see
Your everlasting love
Is shining down on me

"Sunshine" was my name from you
You said I never cried
Instead I wore a smile so true
You felt all warm inside

Mother cries telling me this
The tears she does not hide
Although your love is forever missed
For you she will stay strong inside

If I could make one wish come true
I know what it would be
I’d share my love with you
And have you here with me

This poem is beautiful! It truly brought tears to my eyes. I recently lost my grandfather, about 3 years ago, and never really got to know him very well. So needless to say this poem hit home hard.
