The snowflakes fall so freely
Thinking I could fall as freely as them
But not floating gracefully to the ground
Not laying my head peacefully down

Making my mark upon the pavement
The refined snowflakes cover me up
Like a mother protecting her child
From the horrors of the world

Masking me and my failure
Like the leaves on the steel traps
Waiting to catch that un-suspecting fox

The insane and inane grin
Still plastered on my face
Scaring passer-bys
As they see my meaningless joy and cold eyes

The snowflakes still float freely outside the window
I’m still thinking I could fly like them
You’re presence brings me out of my reverie
I am left to hope only dreams
Left to dream anything but reality
And perhaps what could be
And what could have been

Such sweet snowflakes surely don't fall.....but with each one falling a step to take.....like the sweetness of dreaming to go to the source. To read these words and see that heart, inspiration sweet from the start.

Thank you for sharing this, its beautiful.

Chris
