Thank you for posting this. I know the matter of which this is concerned. I found that incident to be selfish and inconsiderate. Furthermore, I am a Spidey fan and an underdog myself; no matter how long I am on here I will lend my support to the new poets and their want to be read and appreciated. All poets on here should be patient and consider the many circumstances which would prevent their new poems from being read in great number immediately. My advice is to keep writing. Seek no reward but unto the spirit within you which inspires your words. Many poets like big daddy Poe went underappreciated and underread in their time. But we all have our moments of glory and exhaltation. --the Moth

Beautifully said and done.

As has been said so many times before, to each their own......if only I may reach one heart, one mind, one soul...then this time so precious has not been in vain.

Thanks for sharing this.

What a wonderful response, I too recieved her message. I have less than 30 days of this site under my belt. I truly believe I have found a home and a fantastic, new extended family. How I would have loved to be here from the start. Welcome all new poets. Make yourself known through your comments ... they may be slow to come back ... But I can attest, Come back they will. You will not find a more congenial group of writers in one location anywhere. These people are incredible. Thank you all, for your open welcoming arms and support !!!

Nazmythian ~

FANTASTIC WRITE!!!BRAVO TO YOU NESSA.
While reading your very wise poem, I was thinking of this.......Comments are just like your love......if you don't give it away, then you can't keep it! You must do what you want others to do to you......get out there and make yourself known as Nessa stated, but, just because you do.....don't be hurt if your comments are not answered, keep doing it anyway.
I'm so glad Nessa wrote this, because now I can elaborate....I love to write poetry, it's like answering questions that my heart seeks, and when I write it down on paper.....then i can see it all better, and understand it thoroughly.
I write many poems that go over like "Lead Balloons", but I would never stop writing them just because no one likes my subjects, or my feelings (extentions) of my heart! For variety is the spice of life......and that's what keeps the world rotating 'round the sun, or is it the other way around? Matters not you'll have to admit writing poetry can be real fun!
Loved your poem Nessa,
lovingcritters

As usual, Nessa, you have perfectly assessed the situation and answered it graciously. I have been on several poetry sites and have to say YPDC is A#1 out of all of them. My poetry and my heart is here to stay. I have made some of the best friends I have ever had in my life. The more love and friendship you give, the more you will receive in return, just as ConSue stated. Give to us and let us get to know you and we will respond in kind.

Ness, this is great. Thank you for answering the sad statements made by an occasional few. Sadly, some just do not know how to accept friendship for what it is, "giving, not taking".

Big hugs to you,
Rita

Hey girlfriend,
A fine tribute to our awesomely growing site.
I think it would take much longer than a year as this site grows as we speak.
Don't think one could ever catch up.
Great write.
I grow daily by jus reading others work. Also I'm inspired endlessly as I might read a poem and then write one triggered by someone elses thoughts.
great advise.
luv, huggs, smiles,
emy

Thank you for this beautiful welcome. I am one of the new kids on the block, don't think I'm good but try to express my feelings sometimes. I just feel so lucky to have found this place through a friend, and as you say it will take a long time to read all and as I go through and try to read new people, I always seem to drift back to some of the favorites I have found and one is you . Thank you for this. Comments I know are always nice too

oh how awesome was this to read. I have been a member for almost 2 years and have had some bad experience with comments. I have recently returned to the site and have been commenting more but my last few writes have been a bore I understand but I usually post only ones I am completely comfortable with but now I put it all out there it might help someone???? Thank you for your words of encouragement and insight.

Yank those poems and read, read read.. write , write write. Oh, such lovely people here at YPDC. I am blessed.

Amen to that.

I welcome all aboard. I thank every one for reading and commenting on my work as well. Love and huggs from me.

One of your most special poems on this site...and what makes it even more special is how it makes me wish I read this when I first joined this site. You make anyone reading this automatically feel like their art belongs here, and that's one of the best feelings you can do for a poet. Thank you for this...thank you

Hugs & love,

Love this!!! We need this insightful poem at the top of the homepage. Maybe new members could click on this as a prerequisite before they are allowed to post. ;) I really like this one, Nessa. Adding in those absolutely perfect quotes in between your stanzas took this write to the next level.

Great stuff!
