and see the moment of absolute darkness,
walk through impenetrable forests…
where even sunshine cannot tread.

And then I can learn to light candles
with the red fire of hope…
and then I can know light as never before.

I need to hear the silence that’s so fragile
it breaks at the sound of a heartbeat,
the silence of uncried tears, undreamt dreams,
of sea-shells lying half-buried in white sands.

And then I can say what words cannot.
And then I can understand
the language of touch, of trust, of laughter.

I need to know how the wind feels in the
wild mane of a stallion when it runs into the sun,
how the rain melts into rivers and how it flows
through it’s veins, I need to soar high with eagles.

And then I can burn with reflections on still waters
and then I can know the strength
that beats deep in the heart of stillness and peace.

And then I can know what is simplicity,
and then I can know what is greatness.
The ways of the world are so hard, so unforgiving.
Yet the dreams of the soul are so simple, so unfailing.

Deep within begins a road without end,
that goes into the dark night, but the
everlasting stars have everlasting fires inside.

Beautiful! All of this was wonderful, but the last lines stood out, for me at least.

Deep within begins a road without end,
that goes into the dark night, but the
everlasting stars have everlasting fires inside.

Intensely poetic. Well done indeed!

Andrew
