Theres a cockroach in my pantry
He always runs away
He hides beside the sugar tin
I see him every day.

He always makes me jump in fright
And I have named him Tim
That horrid little beastie hides
Beside the sugar tin.

One day when I was feeling brave
I laid a trap for him
I pretended that I wanted rice
And threw some salt on him.

Tim was way too smart for that
He saw my evil plan
He licked his wounds and scurried off
To the marmalade and jam.

The funny thing about him is
He’s hardly grown at all
I think he’s on the Atkins diet
He is very, very small.

I wonder if he could be tamed
What kind of pet he’d make
Im praying I don’t find him in
The bread im going to bake.

Excellent poem, very entertaining.
( I'm not altogether familiar with Tim's kind - I am from the Seattle area and quite familiar with slugs, does salt work an a roach too ? Just a curiosity )

Dear Veramouse............BRAVO!!! WELCOME TO THE YPDC SITE~ It's so nice to have you aboard!
I just found your poem delightful, and imaginative to say the least. I had a whole houseful of those little guys when I lived Illinois, but now I'm in Wyoming.....and hardly any bugs....it's just too darned cold....even for me at times! *smiles*
I had a mouse once in my electric stove, he was so cute I couldn't kill him......I think he welcomed the new owers somehow*smiles*
This was just darling
Lovingcritters (all kinds even bugs 'cause I'm alittle buggy myself *smiles*)
