Array ( [sid] => 62288 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Friendship [time] => 2004-09-02 12:13:35 [hometext] => I was inspired to write this poem dedicated to special friends of mine because of how supportive they were of me during a recent stay in the hospital. They were really there for me. I would appreciate your feedback. Should I give a copy to my friends? [bodytext] => Do unto others as you would have them do unto you
As we have been taught that is the Golden Rule
Perhaps this is easier said then done
But I have found that with a special few it can be won
That level of trust that is to rare to find
Actually can be found in some special friends of mine

Friendship certainly is a valuable gift to embrace
Whether male or female of the race
Like a valuable antique that grows more special with time
So too are these special friendships of mine
A heart-warming acceptance you will find
That touches the soul of your friendship divine

As certainly something so special will glow
For all to see who are in the know
That what we have here is rare indeed
And must be nurtured so as to take seed
And grow and mature in the level of care
That we attribute to something so rare

Doing for each other in time of need
Is one of the special qualities indeed
For this becomes part of the glue that binds
The friendship commitment into an unselfish kind
The giving of one's self so freely when needed
Is typical of the caring quality completed

So may our connection grow and flourish
That we may benefit as we become more nourished
Through the loving bond that we develop
Our special commitment will certainly envelop
As we become entwined within
To a shared loving relationship where everybody wins

Thank you God for your precious gift divine
That I am so fortunate to call mine
Forever will I be grateful to you
For the blessing of friendship so true
May our union continue to grow and abound
For the sake of the precious friendships we have found [comments] => 4 [counter] => 154 [topic] => 16 [informant] => Willofree [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => FriendshipPoetry )

A beautiful tribute to friendship. I would appreciate getting a card, or poem such as that as a special thank-you for being there..I'm sure your friends would as well.
