Isn't it a pity
how people waste their lives
They walk this world
full of rage, packing guns and knives
They come in through your window
grab you as you lie in bed
Rob you of your dignity
shoot or stab you 'till you're dead
They will take away your sanity
as they destroy your home
Smoke your last damned cigarette
and disconnect your phone
A foot goes through the tv screen
vcr gets stomped upon the floor
Aunt Mable's favorite flower vase
picked up and smashed into the door
All around you lays the mess
once tributes from your past
Who ever knew life could change
so violent or so fast
Isn't it a pity
how people waste their lives
Crawl our world, full of rage
packing guns and knives

Yes, SK - it IS a pity! I do hope this write is fiction (they detail has me worrying that it's not). So many people are touched by violence. It's sad really... and seems so entirely unnecessary from where I'm sitting.
