Array ( [sid] => 63080 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Denied Innocence [time] => 2004-09-09 01:42:19 [hometext] => A poem about natures creatures, the hunters and the prey, Made real though my desire to paint a vivid picture. If you get a chance pop in for read, if not next time maybe.Thank you all, and take care. [bodytext] => Denied Innocence

Flattened grass, hunters crawl,
Distant herbivores eat ignorance,

Deceiving breezes, hunters' ally,
Playing antelope, meat on the run,

Tall dry grasses, hunters' cloak,
Grass eaters blissfully unaware,

Hazy dusts, Hunters' chameleon,
Youthful innocence, nears death's door,

Tails cease to move to and fro,
Bashful play turns to alertness,

Brush transforms into tooth and claw,
Panic a little slow, and far too late,

Muscles clamp, juniors’ neck snaps,
Fountaining blood marks virgins’ departure,

Growls puncture bones and flesh,
Life reduced to mere tattered scraps,

Carnivorous lions hunger sated,
Bloodied smears sorrows evidence,

Vultures and flies, nature’s cleaners,
Erasing the scene, hiding innocences’ demise.

And such is life along the food chain. Sad but necessary. I just wish people would hunt with cameras and not guns. There is enough necessary killing done in nature for survival.

It i sad...
But yes, i guess it is necessary too, just like Rita said.
It seems cruel...and unfair.
But, i guess that's life.
Did you know that humans are the only living thing that kill other than for survival?
