Watching the moon dance ‘cross the sky
Another wordless fight
Alone I try to understand why

I focus on the pen
Travelling over the crisp, bare page
I try and try to think of when
I built up such a cage
In a vain attempt to block out the world’s pain
I hoped I could escape it all, and never feel again

Yet you managed to ruin my wall
Made of mortar, brick, and stone
You won’t let me disappear from it all
And won’t make me face it alone

I’ve spent so long hiding, in the dark
I’ve forgotten how to exist
Yet you were there, a familiar spark
You told me I’d be missed

“Don’t end it yet, you’ve much to do”
That was your gentle plea
“If you don’t want to live for you,
Then won’t you live for me?”

I let you down again, my friend
And I’m sorry that it’s so
But do me a favour and don’t pretend
You didn’t know I’d go

I couldn’t live with this broken heart
It hurt more, each passing day
It’s been torn together and stitched apart
It’s crumbled and faded to grey

I had to do what I had to do,
But I want you to know this;
This is only a short adieu
And you’ll be sorrowfully missed

It’s time for me to find something new
Whether it be heaven or hell
Don’t cry, not even a tear or two,
This is only a brief farewell

I sign my note, with a sinking heart,
And seal it with a kiss, for you
I’ll take the knife, and thus depart
Goodbye, from your little girl blue. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 157 [topic] => 13 [informant] => blackmarker [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

Awww that’s beautiful and very well written, so is Dirty Autumn; both similar but still both infinitely brilliant in their own ways, well done.
