I've grown weary of this routine
tired of existing in between
waiting for the friend you promised to be
but hating all you've done to me
what I need is someone to lean on
even you, despite what was done
for whatever reason may exist
some trust in you didn't desist
'cause you're the only one that can
understand me for what I am
somehow you could see through it all
ready to catch me when I'd fall
but you forget how I needed you
and walked away without a clue
puttting on an act is now preferred
about us, you never say a word
it was you that taught me to see
all the things I was afraid to be
and now you won't let me heal
by acting like it was no big deal
make your excuses like you do
only you know which ones are true
but has it at all occurred to you
that I can walk away too?

| somehow i can relate to ur poem.. i'm going through the same thing right now. i was under the shadow of this guy and it felt like he was threatening to leave me.. i was scared back then. but now, i figured no one would love him like i did. by the way, great poem. |

I really enjoyed this. It touched my heart. I am feeling this way now about the relationship between me and my best friend. He was always there.....emotionally and romantically.....and now he's just gone. Thanx so much for sharing.
