In the night I listen to natures tune,
My eyes stare up at the mystic moon.
Tombstones stand glistening with frost,
Others covered with layers of moss.
Like ghosts the shadows begin their ball,
Dancing on the churchyard wall.
Large vaults crumbling in the black,
One lay open with broken back.
A portal open shadows roam,
Ghostly specters leave the stone.
I thought my stomach groaned within,
It was the dead who groaned prickling my skin.
Perspiration a wreath on my trembling brow,
Shall I move or am I safe now?
Specter nears arms outspread,
Orbs of fire to embrace the dead.
Those pits of despair a fiery pool,
From a soul long dead now a spectral ghoul.
I embrace my fate and the shadows there,
My lungs sucked dry of nature’s sweet air.
An angel looks from the church tower down,
My soul released to walk the town.
My spectral force freely roams the graves,
Orbs of fire now flicker deathlike waves.

EMBRACE MY FATE

In the night I listen to natures tune,
My eyes stare up at the mystic moon.
Tombstones stand glistening with frost,
Others covered with layers of moss.
Like ghosts the shadows begin their ball,
Dancing on the churchyard wall.
Large vaults crumbling in the black,
One lay open with broken back.
A portal open shadows roam,
Ghostly specters leave the stone.
I thought my stomach groaned within,
It was the dead who groaned prickling my skin.
Perspiration a wreath on my trembling brow,
Shall I move or am I safe now?
Specter nears arms outspread,
Orbs of fire to embrace the dead.
Those pits of despair a fiery pool,
From a soul long dead now a spectral ghoul.
I embrace my fate and the shadows there,
My lungs sucked dry of nature’s sweet air.
An angel looks from the church tower down,
My soul released to walk the town.
My spectral force freely roams the graves,
Orbs of fire now flicker deathlike waves.
