in that way happily ever afters do,

caught sight of the end

happily ever after,
it now ardently pursued the end

but once upon a time
didn't really notice,
because the end

was with it, now,
and so
they all lived happily ever after.

To this point I sort of feel I need to break the silence and comment. This isn't the first time I read this poem; I truly doubt there will ever be a last. And, somehow, I also feel that this is one of those poems where my understanding of it isn't going to be common. You don't have to guess for you to conclude that I love the irony myself, but I think this poem is more than just creativity.

Like everything else you write, I think it's beautiful, and your grasp of free verse is simply one of those things I'll never really attain.

But...
Somehow, somehow...I feel like there's a mispelling starting on line three that persists all the way to the end.

This is a very clever write, i admit i had to read it again to get the gist. you can tell a lot of thought has gone into this (please don't tell me it only took you 5 minutes to write!)
Very well presented.

I'm sorry i missed this hunni.
This confused me. lol. I have to be honest, and i've just read it 3 times and i still don't quite understand it.
You amaze me how you write, i could never do anything like this.

Something constructive... um...I'm afraid i can't really offer anything. It was all good.
Great write,
*hugs* Phil xxx

I had to read it through twice, but I think i got it. (You'll have to let me know if I'm on the right track, I dont want to say more if I'm not...lol) You've personified happily ever after, once upon a time, and the end, and told a story about a story, in a sense. This is great. A very very sad sad poem, but great.
