Stringing words together and trying to make them rhyme
I find it so relaxing as it helps me to relax and unwind
By describing thoughts and images that are on my mind

My words are a legacy which I mould into some verse
A gift I like to share, for the better or the worse
Some things I write are happy, while others are sad
But writing them has given me the most fun to be had

The proof is in the reading and the resultant pleasure
Hours of creativity which I will eternally treasure
Deep down in my soul I know what I want to do
That is to share my thoughts and hopes with all of you

The messages are I send out with the words that I write
Are my way of relaxing when I can't get to sleep at night
In good times and in bad times I let the poetry simply flow
It is so beneficial to me, more than you will ever know

Sometimes I write poems quickly, sometimes it takes days
For inspiration is so mysterious and in oh so many ways
It has a knack of happening at any time or place
With thoughts just rolling from my mind like stars in outer space

Wow! Are you picking my brain? 'Cause this totally describes me!! I have a tendancy of carrying a pencil and paper in my back pocket, just in case inspiration strikes. I found this had a good flow to it and it kept me interested in reading. Kudos! Welcome to YPDC. You will find a lot of good people here.

I believe this is the first poem I have read of yours and I must say that I am thoroughly impressed!

Ummm, i'm a procrastinator so let me say that I felt a kinship with this poem.

You did a lovely job composing this one.

Well done.

Kie

Let me not waste time in welcoming you to YPDC..the best poetry site on the net.
This is such a wonderful write and I can surely relate. I write for my enjoyment and as therapy. This poem could also have been written about me...
