He can almost believe he’s rain, falling from the sky to absolve
And he’s never more scared than when he’s alone
His unholy need, born from frantic desperation and tainted passion…

His darkened light, calling to him through his pain
Whispered promises of anything, in exchange for his soul
Growled claims of possession, and he is submissive, complacent
His love is twisted and sadistic, but it is his and it is there and it is real

All consuming

He stifles his cries, blinking away the tears that threaten to fall
He carries with him the guise of an angel,
A flawed perfection punished for sins not his own
But never faltering in his subservience

A demonic light sparks a glow in his eyes and he knows…
He kneels in the winds, prepared to forsake himself
And he tells himself that this is right,
But he knows what must be done is treason

Betrayal in the flesh

He fights against his need, a fruitless battle, for he will always give in
Insanity grips his form, and he falls, crying out his transgressions to any who would listen
Slipping into the embrace of carnal shadow, he wonders if he’ll ever regret…
He leaves what he had for what he’ll gain, ashamed of his own weakness

And he hurts, but he cares not for himself, his soul was lost to his darkness too long ago
Sinful touches, heated looks, whimpered pleas, flushed skin, and crimson eyes…
Looking through him to see all that he would hide, and he sees what he fears
Tragic, fatal love…and the darkness can’t understand why he cries

And no one will ever know
