The Heart Beats Its Own Rhythm

Contributed by lanna047 on Wednesday, 15th September 2004 @ 08:50:54 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

the heart beats its own rhythm
a top-secret code
one that only another heart can decipher
the mind tries to translate
seeking true meaning
but in this language, it is not well versed
the mind gets lost and falls behind
confounded by time
second guesses and doubts take over
likewise the heart cannot heed
fails to be swayed
listens to none of what the mind has to say
the mind tries to command
shield and protect
and to guide down a noble path
but the heart has a mind of its own
irrational and rebellious
in search of the freedom it craves
dominated by the need for love
to give and receive
willing to pay whatever price it takes
try as we may to take control
we ultimately fail
taken hostage
tied and bound
forced to follow where the heart must go

about you having less structure, im trying to do the exact opposite. i will tell you though that a write has to have some structure, or it is just basically an essay or trash. very nice write by the way.
