The salt water erodes, burns the cut mark
As you wade out in the dark..
Clothes on the shore, a neat pile
A note for family laden with bile
Its writing a scrawl in ink and tears
As you wept, for the first time in years
The photo placed neatly to one side
As you looked out, examined the tide
Footprints gone, washed by the sea
Erased from all memory

Beautiful, sad and powerful. Vivid imagry as well, I think my favourite lines had to be the last two. Brilliant write.
