that her son is never coming back
she won't hold him in her arms again
another senseless death in Iraq

one by one, the list grows longer
this cycle never seems to end
every day brings more casualties
is this a price we're willing to spend?

how did we get into such a mess?
it is possibly the biggest flub
that came from this administration
led by a fellow nicknamed the Shrub

with no solid evidence in hand
so certain of weapons we would find
but there are none that we can see
and now we are stuck in a bind

we had so few allies beside us
they all could see it was wrong
but we went ahead anyway
and marched into Iraq, blind and headlong

we didn't belong there in the first place
and now it's impossible to leave
how can we trust this President
when all he does is deceive?

the world's countries have been divided
taking sides and seeing red
not joining together to unite
but moving backwards instead

little else has been accomplished
to move our own country forward
education, health care, and economy
have all been hit so hard

what further damage could be done
is what tops all my fears
if this incompetent politician
is re-elected for four more years [comments] => 2 [counter] => 494 [topic] => 41 [informant] => lanna047 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 1 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => political )

... .... .... Huh? ... what? What's that? Oh yeah, sorry I must have dozed off. Just a second... divided... seeing red... hmmm... oh, ok yeah. Ok here we are. Yeah, it's rhyming Democrat stuff. Ok. Well, that's nice. Poetry? Emotional? Maybe not. Ok, I guess this person wants to do his/her part in getting Kerry (the guy he/she probably knows nothing about) elected. It's been a waste of my time. I give this a -1 on the Nortiscale because it simply shouldn't be here. It's not poetry, it's political babbling.

Yeah... Ummm... I'm afraid I'm gonna have to agree with Norticus on this one... Seeing as how I have a cousin in Iraq, and I'm more than proud that he's over there... I don't think there is NO reason for us to be there... there wouldn't have been if Clinton had taken care of it, either... All that rhymes is not poetry my friend...
