~~~
I’ve changed through the years
As life as thrown me many curves
I’ve been bounced back and worth
Which has worked on my nerves
Often I’ve walked away from the person
I’ve been most of my life
Gone are the carefree days
Stress has gotten me with a knife
Who I am in the mirror
At times I’m not quite sure
Who I was, and who I am
Battles me like a war
Have I let the world inside?
Have I lost that inner peace?
This tower of strength was I
Now the demons feast
I’d traded strength for weakness
Temptation has called my name
Yet I know wrong from right
But I play it like a game
Traded my soul for money
Value to much the processions that I have
Out in front my conscience leads
Yet my hands can not quite grab
I miss simpler days
When the right road was clearer to see
But when I honestly look back
What I miss the most is, me
awesome poem...i miss me too....it's stupid how the rest of the world can pollute you once you make yourself vulnerable by caring too much. i hope you can find your way back! or at least find some peace in yourself for the future. take care of yourself...later
