Array ( [sid] => 66048 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Your love overcomes every storm [time] => 2004-10-04 04:46:22 [hometext] => This is the first christain song I have posted in over a month. [bodytext] => Lately I have not posted christian poetry because a majority of people expressed that they did not like it. All I can say is do not read or leave comments on this poem if you are like that. I wish I did not have to leave comments such as these on my poems yet it is necessary because of certain unscrupulous characters who do not understand the meaning of courtesy and fairness. I hope in the future that I can read and write poetry normally like the majority of people on this site and that courtesy will be shown toward all writers. Until then I will qualify each of my poems of this type.

This poem is about faith during rough times as the title says. Everyone needs faith no matter what you believe in and in this world life is hard so even if you just believe in yourself you must have confidence to pursue love or goals that you have set forth. I hope people find the strength to overcome their characters and become the people that they want to be. I fight to achieve that goal for myself everyday.

At the start of the day I chide
I will be what I must for the day
at the end of the day I realize
how impossible was my phrase
For I fought against the wind
and I fought against the storm
yet my character still dies inside of me.

Your love
overcomes every storm
sometimes I do not believe it
but that doesn''t make it untrue
Your love
overcomes every storm
even though the storms will keep raging
in you I find my peace.

How I wish I could erase
all the sins in my memories
how badly I have disgrace
my innocence and purity
and my conscience dies in flames
with each sin I enter in
to the condemnation of my justice

Your love
overcomes every storm
lifting from waters that drown me
in an endless sea
Your love
overcomes every storm
placing your arms around me
forgiveness makes me free

And you overcome the wind
and you overcome the storm
all my enemies leave screaming
when your''re near me

Your love
overcomes every storm
sometimes Lord I can not believe it
but that doesn''t make it untrue
Your love
Your victory comes through my weakness
I give my praise to you

You have a very strong Christian poetic voice, with well-thought out imagery!

It reminds me a little of the chorus to a song: "This is how we overcome!"

Ya know this site is like a t.v. if ya don't like what u r reading then change channels. It's really sad that a few people can wreak havoc for others. Keep writing even tho it hair lips the devil which usually it does.
don't worry bout the trouble makers 'cause there will always be those that deal with real poetry.
