So many ways these chasms form

Too few are the ways they can be filled

Mine can only be filled by someone like you

By you perhaps but I am not sure

That is what you want

So many ways these wounds are made

Without the use of a knife or any blade

It takes so long for them to heal

If they ever do

You’re A Fire That Buns

And brands my soul

I feel the warmth of your flame as it

Washes away the imbrued marks

That my tears have made

You’re A Fire That Burns

Just like love always will

And like love

You melt the ice that traps my heart

Nothing feels as sweetly as you do

When our bodies warm the cold universe

Chasms

So many ways these chasms form

Too few are the ways they can be filled

Mine can only be filled by someone like you

There is strong imagery in this poem, good use of free verse and brief use of rhymed verse.
