[bodytext] => What I wouldn't give to see your face
To look into your eyes
Flecked of green hazel and gray
And have your arms sweep me into
A father's embrace
With the comfort
Of knowing you won't let go
With your bear paws brushing through my long silken hair
Showing your love to your "little blonde-haired girl".
I would give my all for a glimpse of your smirk
A chuckle
A twinkle of mirth
The reflection of your laughter held within
Being shown without
To tousle that silvery hair
And share in the joke with you
To wrap my arms around your neck
And lay my head on your chest
And call you one more time Daddy.
Now fast forward many months later
And the pictures are a fading memory
Of the love shared between
a Father and his daughter
And the remnant of it is
His little blonde haired girl
Wishing for his return
This restless heart wandering
Seeking that love
That left the gaping whole
A wound that still bleeds
And has not quite patched
Though time has passed.
This little blonde haired girl cries
With tears running down her face
Not wanting to grow up
Not wanting to let go
To clutch your finger
To have you hold me again
To have you comfort me and give me peace
To be my protector once again.
Come back.

I can't really be empathetic because I've never been in your situation, but I have no doubt that someday you will see your father again.

The heartache of loosing someone close is so very painful. I can relate to your grief and anguish. Your father will be with you in spirit this i believe to be true. If you love someone so much they can never be taken away from your soul.
They continue to live inside of you forever. They are with you also in spirit.
May the angels look after you and your dad
A beutiful yet sad poem
God bless

Love Sweetangelukxxxx

This made me cry. Daddy's mean so much. I'm so sorry, Emily. I hope time will be more powerful in its healing for that forever bleeding hole in your heart. At least I'm confident you are looking in the right direction for it to be filled. Take care,
~Carrie~

It is great. I could actually visualize as if actually there as I read the lines. Great way to show the on going love you share with your father.

Powerful and sad. This will remain with you for the rest of your life (as you know), but it need not always be something evil. Just let Him work it out. It takes time.

I can very much relate to this situation, though I lost a mother figure, not a father. Yet the pain is still the same, and it never goes away. You used excellent descriptions and imagery in your poem, and it clearly conveys your loss. God Bless, I feel your pain every day.
