Still tucked away where I put you last
Hiding in the dark recesses of my heart
Along with all the old memories from the past
It's been awhile since I've pulled you out
But today I needed to release and have a good cry
So I pulled you through the darkness to the light
Strange this time I didn't have to coax or pry
You came so easily and willingly to me
I guess no matter how hard I try to hide you you're always there
Just waiting for days like these
When I pull you out and reminisce without a care [comments] => 3 [counter] => 176 [topic] => 21 [informant] => suzy [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

I think we all have feelings like this that we've actually tucked away somewhere deep down inside that we haven't dealt with as of yet. Thanks for sharing this it gave me alot to think about.

It does get easier, Lasca, doesn't it? Though there seems to be a strange sort of sadness that lingers and simply won't go away no matter what. Love this poem. Calls to mind a quote from Oriah Mountain Dreamer: ...let us risk remembering we never stop silently loving those we once loved out loud. I'm still waiting for the day when I can remember and smile. You too?

I loved this poem, Suzy. Memories are good and bad. Dot
