She wears a cross, around her neck, on her wedding day. And her family, does suspect. he would have wanted it that way. The organ sounds, signalling her walk, toward the waiting groom. She paces herself, a cautious stalk, across the expectant room. She walks alone, in silent splendor, missing her sweet dad. And as she walks, she does remember, all the moments that they had. The gifts he bought, the joy he wrought, that trip to Providence. Those silent talks, and lessons taught, all in confidence. She remembers that day, she laid him down, to enjoy that greatest sleep. The people, on her greatest day, can easily see her weep. As she walks, and takes a breath, she is well aware, that every step, he's by her side, 'cause he promised to be there.
