Night's Symphony

Night is a cloak of darkness Haunted by silence, hiding secrets untold But if you listen, you will soon find The symphonies of the night will unfold.
The cry of a lone owl strikes the first note Like cellos, penetrating the air A slow waltz of crotchets and quavers Through the silence the music will tear
The percussive drum of your footsteps Pounding against the rugged floor Beating in unison to the steady pulse of a heart A quiet night this is no more.
Can you hear it?
The rustle of trees rising in a crescendo Un-tuned violins bowed by the breeze Swaying to the rising wind Proving to be more than it appears
So listen to the sound of the night To the cellos in an owls cry To the drum in your footsteps To the violins in the trees And music will take its flight
Can you hear it?
Nights symphony.
