Array ( [sid] => 68493 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Love [time] => 2004-10-22 18:36:02 [hometext] => This is a poem about my experience with love [bodytext] => Under the starry sky so late at night,
Wishing that time would slow to a craw,
Not another person within my sight,
Listing to the heartrending river as it flows over the fall,

I pull you close, your hand upon mine,
You say that you love me, and a tear flows down my cheek,
Another glance into your eyes, trying to find the right time,
I hand you my ring, a treasure you say you will always keep,

Time moves on day by day, week by week,
Our love builds fuller, stronger,
Looking into your eyes full of regret and disbelief,
You pull me close one last time and time slowly become longer,

Your eyes full of tears, dreaded words come out
Relationships passing through my mind, mistakes and regret,
Your love for me has brought up doubt,
As you try and explain, you become more upset,

I love you and I always will, I heard all the months before,
We need to go separate ways for a while,
Little did I know what you had in store,
You say our relationship has grown apart, slow and mild

I beg you not to leave, but u are quick like a dart,
As you stand up and walk toward the doors,
I love you, I love you, I cry from my heart
But I don’t love you like I use to, you say with out remorse,

As I pull myself together, remove the knives from my chest,
I feel my hear beat calmer, slower,
I will suck it up, be a man, I will try my best,
I’ll try and mend my heart, create a new one, fuller,

Time passes slowly, without hesitation
I try to forget, fill the puncture that you left,
As I stare late at night into the constellations,
I hold back tears, or try my best,

Nothing I do will replace you,
There will forever lie a fissure,
Moving on is something I can not do
Every night I close my eyes and see your picture,

The months move on everything begins to change,
I try to replace you with another,
My way of life was forever re-arranged,
When she tried to change me, I said don’t bother,

There is still a hole, large and grey,
Hope and God, are by my side,
Maybe to be patched by you another day,
Or maybe just to be again, ripped open wide
