You look directly into my eyes and plead
How can nobody else see what I see?

Please, don’t ask me to stay
I remove my hand from yours and slowly walk
I don’t care what they say, just let them talk

Please, don’t ask me to stay
You know I hate leaving you when I must
How do I prove to them this is more than dead end lust?

You stare out of the window and smile to yourself
And together we’ve somehow stopped time
And no one else exists in this world
When you hold me and whisper, ‘mine.’

Please, don’t ask me to stay
I can’t look you in the eye when you do
No one else matters when it’s just me and you

Please, don’t ask me to stay
When I promise I’ll see you again soon
And all I think about is the next meeting, and you’re thinking about it too

Please, don’t ask me to stay
When you know how badly I want to agree
Judgemental eyes somehow become blind when you’re here holding me

You stare out of the window and smile to yourself
Nothing else matters anymore
You stare at me so innocent; so oblivious
What choice do I have left but to fall?

Please, don’t ask me to go
When there’s anything we can get through
And you stare out the window and smile to yourself
I can’t help but fall for you.
