Man, youd think you knew better. I should be able to expect more from you. Every night it drives me crazy And I know theres nothing I can do.
No one would ever think That after they have loved someone for so long They would lose that someone to alcohol And that someone would be gone.
I remember years ago I would never have dreamed youd do this to me But here I am, and its one oclock And still its your car I dont see.
Im so sick of having to sit here Wondering if Ill ever see your face again Or tell you I think you have a problem I probably wouldnt even know where to begin.
Stressed out parents wait at night For that call from the police Or that car to pull up that driveway Anything to make the worrying cease.
I dont remember when the lying started That youd say you youd be at a certain place And then you would never come home that night And Id know that that wasnt the case.
And I know you say youre sorry And that itll never happen again But a girl shouldnt have to stay up all night worrying About what has become of her parents.

My parents are alcoholics....they'll never change and I have to deal with that.....I can
understand where you are coming from
but there has to be a time where you just
let go. You can't change them...but only
pray for them.
