Ever auspicious to virtuous
Enchantress of the heaven’s Lord
Indrani, the queen of cosmos
Bestows prowess to worshippers
By her compassionate glances
Cools down the heat of great sins
Protects sages and pious people
By shining looks helps angels
By her beauty fascinates the Lord
Through her words of inspiration
Bestows power to righteous men
By her words of love joy to women
May she shine as golden rayed sun
In the space of the hearts of devotees!
Her face shines as autumnal moon,
Her tresses shine as blue clouds,
Her eyes shine as beautiful blue lotuses.
May her sweet smile light up the quarters
To wash down the darkness of my lust!
Obeisance to Indrani, whose breasts
Shine as golden pitchers bearing nectar
To feed creatures of the three worlds;
That Lady whose body bears invisible
Cosmic flames and who gave birth
To Sun, Moon, Stars and the Earth;
That Lady who is all pervading as the sky
Shall enter my body like a river of energy;
May She flow as brilliant light in my veins!
May She flow as blissful nectar in my brain!
May She flow as wine divine in my words!
May that Lady ever shine in my heart’s lotus!

Very insperational indeed
it sounds like it could be a prayer.

With this work you really brought Indrani spirit to light
She is one of the nine cosmic deities in hinduism right?

To think that you would pray for such a thing..
It makes you seem..human. I thought you were above
all of that..(a small joke..) This is beautiful and I did enjoy..

Such devotion of her 'compassionate glances', permits your vision to find record in near-astral dimensions...

"Obeisance to Indrani, whose breasts
Shine as golden pitchers bearing nectar
To feed creatures of the three worlds;"

"May she shine as golden rayed sun
In the space of the hearts of devotees!"

These are such befitting images of a goddess' splendour.

Always a pleasure, venkat.

The title was incredible Venkat and that is what initially drew me to this poem. You know i've always been interested in India. Believe it or not i've even read geographical type surveys of the landscape in different areas. It is like everywhere in the world all in one country, if that makes sense. There is something enthralling about visiting there and the wedding's are I would think unforgettable.

Now back on subject. I've always found your poetry to be great, intellectual, deep and full of inspiration.

It was a pleasure to read this poem.

Kie
